PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DRUGS INTELLIGENCE UNIT CLOSURE (17 March 1999)

Motion Details

That this House regrets the decision of Her Majesty's Government to close the Drug Dog Unit and the Customs Intelligence Team Unit at Plymouth; notes that over the past five years these units have made a valuable contribution in preventing more than ú35 million of drugs entering Britain; and expresses the hope that the Government will reverse this decison, which will leave the region's other dog detection units over-stretched and the entire region vulnerable.
