PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
NEWS AT TEN (20 July 1999)
Motion Details
That this House, which gave Independent Television the benefit of the doubt when the decision was taken to remove the ITN News from its ten o'clock slot, records its disappointment that the anticipated major films to be broadcast have turned out to be films such as the James Bond series that most people have already seen; notes that viewing figures for the late evening news are significantly below those for News at Ten; and therefore calls for the reinstatement of News at Ten forthwith.
