PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Outside Interests: Conduct of Honourable Members (8 February 1990)
Motion Details
That this House deplores the growing practice of honourable Members earning undisclosed sums by acting as parliamentary consultants; condemns the use of parliamentary procedures by some of those honourable Members to overtly promote policies which would clearly benefit their outside interests in a pecuniary way; and suggests that the declaration of interests prodedures as practiced in local government be adopted by this House in preference to the ineffective Register of Members' Interests.
