CHILD SAFETY WEEK (21 June 1999)
Motion Details
That this House congratulates the Child Accident Prevention Trust for organising Child Safety Week; recognises the important work the Trust does in promoting child safety within the home and in society generally; notes that every year around 500 children die following an accident, more than two million children aged 14 and under are taking to hospital accident and emergency departments, with 120,000 needing extensive and lengthy treatment and 10,000 becoming permanently disabled; and supports the creating of safety action zones as promoted by the Child Accident Prevention Trust to minimise accidents involving children.
