PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Team Spirit 1990 Manoeuvres in South Korea (8 February 1990)

Motion Details

That this House noting and welcoming the proposed withdrawal of U.S. and Soviet troops from Europe and the proposed reduction of conventional weapons including combat aircraft, helicopters and tanks, deplores the Team Spirit 1990 exercises in South Korea of the U.S. and South Korean governments; believes that this manoeuvre which will involve the use of most modern weapons, aircraft and ships will only increase tension on the Korean peninsular; and calls for the peaceful re-unification of Korea and the withdrawal of the 40,000 U.S. troops based there.
