PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
AGE DISCRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT ADVERTISING (16 June 1997)
Motion Details
That this House is appalled at the human waste caused by age discrimination in employment; calls on the Government to support the Employment (Age Discrimination in Advertisements) Bill to outlaw arbitrary age limits in job advertising; believes this Bill will begin to change attitudes about older workers and their value and will act as a first step towards wider legislation to combat age discrimination; and considers age discrimination to be both economically wasteful and morally indefensible.
