WORLD PARKINSON'S DISEASE DAY (8 June 1997)
Motion Details
That this House notes Parkinson's Disease is a leading cause of neurological disability affecting over 120,000 people in the United Kingdom; and welcomes the pioneering efforts of the Parkinson's Disease Society of the United Kingdom to provide help and support for people with Parkinson's and their families living with this progressive and incurable illnes; and further notes that the launch of the first ever World Parkinson's Disease Day on 11th April 1997, co-sponsored by the World Health Organisation and initiated by the European Parkinson's Disease Association, has provided the opportunity for global collaboration to increase awareness of this condition throughout this year until World Parkinson's Disease Day 1998.
