PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
THE HOME SECRETARY AND THE ABOLITION OF THE PRIMARY PURPOSE RULE (4 June 1997)

Motion Details

That this House congratulates the Home Secretary on his decision to abolish the Primary Purpose Rule; notes the fact that the rule was pernicious, arbitrary and ineffective; and considers that this historic change is an important first step to restoring justice to immigration policy and will unite families that have been cruelly separated.
