PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
IR35 PROPOSALS (1 November 1999)

Motion Details

That this House notes with concern the Government's proposals, commonly referred to as IR 35, to counter tax avoidance by some one-person company contractors which should be curbed, the present proposals are potentially very damaging to United Kingdom industry, particularly in the areas of information technology, engineering and offshore contracting; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to consult more intensively with industry representatives on the detailed proposals and to review the proposals in light of the genuine concerns of those affected.
