PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SERPS INHERITANCE RIGHTS (24 October 1999)

Motion Details

That this House welcomes the Government's commitment to remedy the problem caused by the change in the inheritance of SERPS in April 2000; notes that a scheme of compensation would be financially prohibitive and would be impossible to administer adequately and fairly; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to delay the changes to the inheritance of SERPS to 2010 to allow those misled adequate time to adjust their finances accordingly.
