Ministerial Statements on the Poll Tax (6 February 1990)
Motion Details
That this House notes the frequent Ministerial utterances on the poll tax but is beginning to view with suspicion that no estimates have yet been published of the distributional impact of the poll tax upon various household sizes, following the Ministerial statements of 6th November 1989 and 11th January 1990, whereas such estimates were regularly made available during the passage of the legislation; and calls upon Ministers to keep quiet on the poll tax until they have provided the figures.
