PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
PAYMENTS FOR SLAUGHTERED ANIMALS (15 July 1997)

Motion Details

That this House deplores the reduction in the payment for animals slaughtered under the over 30 months scheme, combined with the imposition of a maximum weight limit on which animals will be paid at 560kg; believes that this will greatly reduce the incomes of farmers who have faced enormous pressure as a consequence of the BSE crises, and called on the Government to remove any weight limits and ensure that the compensation amount remains at 0.9ecu/kg.
