PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
APPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS OF NHS TRUSTS (30 June 1997)
Motion Details
That this House believes that chairmen and non-executive members of the NHS trusts should be appointed on merit, have a strong personal commitment to the NHS and live in the area served by the NHS trust; welcomes the commitment of the Secretary of State for Health to the appointment process for these posts involving independent assessment openness and transparency; and welcomes the Secretary of State's decision to invite honourable Members of all parties to nominate candidates for these posts.
