PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
METROPOLITAN POLICE AND RACIAL ABUSE (15 January 1998)
Motion Details
That this House congratulates the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police for his prompt action in pursuing those police officers who have perpetrated serious racial abuse at Ealing Police Station; urges him to take action to demonstrate the complete commitment of the Police Service to racial equality; offers sympathy to those police officers in receipt of offensive mail; and hopes that the Metropolitan Police will put in train procedures to ensure that this type of abuse does not occur again.
