PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT (11 December 1997)
Motion Details
That this House calls for the creation of an International Criminal Court to strengthen the capacity of the United Nations to maintain peace and security; believes that an ICC should be a permanent court of justice to complement national judicial bodies, providing a legal court under international law where individuals could be held to account for offences such as genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity; and further recognises that it is only through an ICC that individuals, including national political and military leaders, can be held accountable for some fo the worst offences under international law.
