PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DISABILITY BENEFIT REVIEWS (19 November 1997)
Motion Details
That this House notes that the Government is currently undertaking a number of inter-related reviews concerning the benefits available to disabled people; is concerned about the lack of clarity and openness about decision-making and consultation processes around these reviews; believes that if the Government proposes substantial changes to the operation and availability of disability benefits these should be the subject of a Green Paper or other formal consultation; and calls on the Secretary of State for Social Security to make a statement to the House setting out the Government's intentions in respect of these reviews.
