PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BEUA AND THE RIGHT HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR WOKINGHAM (11 November 1997)
Motion Details
That this House notes with concern the complaint from the distinguished editor of Business Equipment Digest, Mr Eric Fordham, to the Office of Fair Trading that the photocopy consultant, the Business Equipment Users Association, is misrepresenting itself as a users' association when it is a strictly commercial organisation and not a users' group, that it is funded by photocopier suppliers and supplies support services to the trade; further notes his complaint that BEUA publishes no accounts; further notes that the Right honourable Member for Wokingham relies on the BEUA for briefings; and calls on the Director General of Fair Trading to investigate Mr Fordham's complaint.
