PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
BEER IN LINED GLASSES (4 March 1998)
Motion Details
That this House notes the representations made by brewers for a cut in the duty on beer which would reduce the price of beer considerably; further notes that the brewers steadfastly refuse to introduce lined glasses which would allow customers to obtain the full measure of liquid for which they are paying, on the grounds that providing an honest measure would drive up the price; and calls on the Chancellor to accept proposals for a cut in duty only as and when brewers introduce lined glasses.
