PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ATKINSON MORLEY'S HOSPITAL WIMBLEDON (26 January 1998)
Motion Details
That this House expresses its concern at the decision of the South Thames health authorities to close the renowned paediatric neurosurgical unit at Atkinson Morley's Hospital in Wimbledon by the end of March; notes that this is already occasioning much unneccesary distress and disruption for patients and their families, and that many local paediatricians who refer children to the unit have condemned the decision on clinical grounds; and urges the Secretary of State for Health, in the light of the outstanding PFI bid to rebuild Atkinson Morley's Hospital as a whole at the St. George's Hospital site in Tooting, to undertake a review of the decision.
