PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
FUR FARMING (No. 2) (22 January 1998)
Motion Details
That this House is opposed to the farming of mink and fox for their fur; notes that mink are highly active animals which in the wild defend large territories; believes that it is cruel to keep mink and fox, which are essentially wild creatures, in small barren cages; welcomes the Labour Party's statement in its 1996 document, New Life for Animals, that it is totally opposed to fur farming and will take action to end this cruel method as soon as practicable; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to introduce measures without delay to end fur farming by law.
