BRITISH WOMEN MUSIC COMPOSERS SUCCESS AT THE OSCARS AND THE MUSICIANS' UNION (26 March 1998)

Motion Details

That this House congratulates Anne Dudley on her award of a 1998 Oscar for the Best Original Musical or Comedy Score for the film The Full Monty, following Rachel Portman who received the award in 1997 for the score for the film Emma; notes they are both members of the Musicians' Union and their instrumental colleagues who played their scores were members of the Musicians' Union; looks forward to future musical success by men and women members of the Musicians' Union; and congratulates the Musicians' Union for its work in encouraging all forms and styles of music throughout the United Kingdom.
