PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
IMPACT OF BENEFITS INTEGRITY PROJECT ON MOTABILITY (17 March 1998)
Motion Details
That this House notes with concern that up to the end of February, nearly 1,100 people with Motability Agreements, involved in the Benefits Integrity Project, have had their disability living allowance higher rate mobility component stopped or reduced and that up to 80 disabled people a month have had to hand back their Motobility vehicle as a result; regrets that no provision was made to compensate those disability living allowance recipients who have had their benefit restored or increased at review or appeal stage but have already lost their vehicle; and calls on the Government to take urgent steps to remove this injustice from the Benefits Integrity Project.
