PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
Marks and Spencer and the Law (25 January 1990)
Motion Details
That this House deplores the statement made by a senior Marks and Spencer legal executive, as reported in the press, that a not guilty verdict does not necessarily mean someone is innocent, said in relation to Kevin Strongman from the Vale of Glamorgan; and notes that after being found not guilty in the Crown Court of shop-lifting, Mr Strongman has in effect been fined by Marks and Spencer, who refuse to return the goods he purchased or the ú20.12 he paid for them.
