PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
COMMUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH A MENTAL HANDICAP (22 June 1998)
Motion Details
That this House welcomes the Government's commitment to introduce a long-term care charter for all adults with long-term community care needs; and wishes the Government to ensure that local health and social services authorities secure the provision of residential and village communities for people with a mental handicap, in response to growing evidence of family wishes for that option as argued in 'Made to Care' and as recorded in previous strongly supported Early Day Motions 206 in 1996 and 349 in 1997, as part of the wide spectrum of acceptable residential care provision.
