MINISTRY OF DEFENCE AND WEAPONS TESTING ON LIVE PIGS (9 June 1998)
Motion Details
That this House is deeply concerned that the Ministry of Defence has allowed Army personnel to attend Exercise Danish Bacon where high velocity weapons are fired at close quarters into live pigs; notes that the experiments have been going on for at least the last 10 years; further notes that animal experiments by the Ministry of Defence have increased approximately threefold since 1992; and urges Her Majesty's Government to put an end to this barbaric practice immediately and to put in place alternatives to using animals in military experiments.
