PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SCOPE WEEK (2 June 1998)
Motion Details
That this House takes note of the ground-breaking survey comparing the experiences and aspirations of disabled and non-disabled children produced as part of Scope Week, 1st to 7th June, Scope's first ever national week; recognises that, even though disabled children's aspirations are as far-reaching as those of non-disabled children, Disabled adults currently face far more barriers than non-disabled adults; points with concern to the survey's findings that disabled children are twice as likely to experience bullying as non-disabled children; acknowledges the positive work being undertaken by the Disability Rights Task Force; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to continue its objective of helping all disabled people to achieve their aspirations.
