PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
GENOCIDE IN RWANDA (31 May 1998)

Motion Details

That this House condemns the genocide in Rwanda which led to the systematic murder of between 800,000 and one million Rwandans in 100 days; notes the failure of the international community to fulfil its obligations under the UN convention to prevent and punish the crime of genocide; further notes that the genocide was neither prevented nor punished; and recognises, on the 50th anniversary of the above convention, the need to hasten assistance to the victims of genocide.
