PAUL COLMAN: EARTHWALKER (27 April 1998)

Motion Details

That this House notes that having already walked from Ontario to Rio de Janeiro to attend the Earth Summit I meeting, and from San Francisco to Sarajevo to promote peace-keeping and environmental restoration efforts, Paul Colman is, on 1st May, embarking on a 2005 mile walk throughBritain, starting from Westminster and continuing to Northern Scotland via rural communities, towns and cities en route, including Oxford, Stoke-on-Trent, Manchester, Edinburgh, John O'Groats and back to Lands End via Glasgow, Liverpool, Cardiff, Bristol, and then from Lands End via Plymouth and Reading back to London; urges communities, councils, schools and people everywhere along the way to welcome him and assist and encourage local contributions to local Agenda 21 campaigns and the planting of trees on behalf of the 1600 children killed during the siege of Sarajevo and the restoration efforts underway in that city; and urges those along the route to follow his progress on www.earthwalker.com.
