PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
EUROPEAN REGION FOR CORNWALL (22 April 1998)
Motion Details
That this House notes the serious state of economic decline in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly which set it apart from its neightbours; further notes that with a gross domestic product per capita of 69 per cent. of the EU average and falling, the region's economy deserves urgent and effective attention; and supports the de-coupling of Cornwall and Scilly from its neighbours for the purposes of statistical representation as a European region for securing Objective 1 status in the next round of European Structural Funds.
