NORTHERN IRELAND AGREEMENT (20 April 1998)
Motion Details
That this House congratulates the Prime Minister, the Taoiseach, the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, the Right honourable Member for Huntingdon, Senator George Mitchell and all the participants in the Northern Ireland Multi-party negotiations for their courage and endurance that has led to the historic opportunity to establish a peaceful resolution to the years of conflict that have bedevilled the people of Northern Ireland, their commitment to exclusively democratic and peaceful means of resolving differences on political issues and their opposition to any use or threat of violence by others for any political purpose; and calls upon all the political parties and the community leaders of Britain and the island of Ireland to compaign for a Yes vote in the referendum on 22 May.
