PROVISIONS FOR PET OWNERSHIP IN RESIDENTIAL CARE AND SHELTERED HOUSING (19 July 1998)

Motion Details

That this House recognises the emotional importance and therapeutic value of pets to older people, as well as the distress felt by those older people who give up their pets as they move into residential care or sheltered housing; encourages housing providers to adopt positive pet policies; and supports the provision of information on such policies to the elderly, their families, local vets and animal sanctuaries.
