PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SNOWDON (5 July 1998)

Motion Details

That this House expresses its concern that the sale of the 4,000 acre estate which includes the summit of Snowdon could jeopardize the environmental heritage, the farming traditions and the public amenity of these lands; and calls on the Secretary of State for Wales, in cooperation with the National Trust in Wales, the Eryri National Park Authority and Gwynedd Council, to take immediate steps to secure this estate for the Welsh nation in order to safeguard a proper balance between the interests of conservation, hill farming, tourism, recreation and heritage for the benefit of the local and wider communities.
