PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
LONDON TAXICARD SCHEME (4 November 1996)

Motion Details

That this House is concerned by the proposals in a recent review of the London Committee on Accessible Transport and its staff unit, the London Accessible Transport Unit, and, in particular, by those relating to the management and administration of the London taxicard scheme which serves about 50,000 severely disabled residents of the 29 London boroughs participating in the scheme, providing them with subsidised travel in London taxis which they would otherwise not be able to afford and which, in many cases, is their only form of mobility; and notes the concern of voluntary organisations a bout the proposals in this review for their impact on the taxicard scheme and on other services provided by the London Committee on Accessible Transport to elderly and disabled Londoners.
