PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
DEDUCTIONS FROM THE WAGES OF POWS DURING WORLD WAR II (10 November 1998)

Motion Details

That this House calls on the Government to make the speediest possible amends for reductions made from the pay of POWs in Italy and Germany during the Second World War by making a contribution to a charitable fund; asks for an independent assessment of the overall value of the losses directly resulting from such deductions; and commends such action to Her Majesty's Government as an appropriate way of marking Armistice Day by remembering the living as well as commemorating the dead.
