PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
MR MARK VOTIER (11 December 1995)
Motion Details
That this House condemns without reservation the decision of the Japanese Government to sue Mr Mark Votier for having photographed the appalling suffering inflicted by Japanese whalers on minke whales; acknowledge that the use of electrocu tion of harpooned whales is barbarous, savage and inflicts unbelieveable suffering on a sea mammal capable of far more feelings than the average Japanese butcher who slaughters them; calls upon the British Government to defend the rights of the United Kingdom's citizen Mr Votier, who has rendered a great service by exposing the hypocritical attitude and loathsome activities of the Japanese whale killers; and demands that the most vigorous protest be made to the Japanese authorities forthwith.
