PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
INCIDENT AT THE HAZRATBAL SHRINE, SRINAGAR (15 April 1996)

Motion Details

That this House expresses its shock at the killing by the Indian Army of over 20 members of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, including its Indian President, Shabbir Ahmad Siddiqui, and prominent lawyer, Mr Jalil Indrabi, in a single incident at the Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar on 30th March; notes that the campaign for Kashmiri self- determination cannot be resolved by military means; and calls on the British Government to take action to persuade the United Nations to intervene, with a view to ending the war and enabling the people of Kashmir to determine their own destiny.
