PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ETON COLLEGE AND PARLIAMENTARY DEMOCRACY (28 February 1996)

Motion Details

That this House notes the contributions made by former pupils of Eton College on behalf of the Chief Secretary to the Treasury, the Right honourable Member for Bristol West, an Old Etonian, in the debate on the Scott Report; further notes that of the twelve Conservative honourable Members called to speak in the debate, six attended Eton and eight were former Ministers; further notes the contribution from four Old Etonian members of the Upper House; and calls on the Prime Minister to consider this imbalance in light of his campaign for a classless society.
