PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
ELECTIONS IN KASHMIR (10 June 1996)

Motion Details

That this House notes with concern reports that at the recent elections in Kashmir people were coerced into voting by the Indian Army; believes that an election in which intimidation, threats and violence are used to force people into polling stations cannot be regarded in any way as valid; and further believes that a solution to the problems of Kashmir will only be achieved by the Kashmiri people being allowed to freely exercise the right of self-determination of their own future.
