PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
COMPENSATION FOR CHRONIC BRONCHITIS AND EMPHYSEMA (21 November 1994)
Motion Details
That this House is gravely concerned that British Coal have not included PD 12D chronic bronchitis and emphysema within the scope of its pneumoconiosis compensation scheme when the causal connection between exposure to coal dust and the development of the disease has been accepted by the Industrial Injuries Advisory Council, and that to succeed with a claim an applicant must show x-ray evidence of simple pneumoconiosis; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to cause the scheme to be amended to make payments to sufferers of the disease awarded a disablement assessment.
