PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
COMPENSATION RECOVERY UNIT OF THE DSS (16 November 1994)
Motion Details
That this House is appalled by the work of the Compensation Recovery Unit of the Department of Social Security; notes that after years of struggle against negligent employers or those who have caused serious injury, sufferers from diseases like asbestosis have to pay tens of thousands of pounds to the Department of Social Security, which will have clawed back ú100 million in this financial year; and calls for the end of the Compensation Recovery Unit which robs the victims of money they deserve in compensation for their suffering.
