PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
SHELTER LOBBY ON `OUR FUTURE HOMES' (24 October 1995)

That this House welcomes the Shelter Lobby of Parliament protesting against the housing White Paper 'Our Future Homes'; notes that the proposals in the White Paper will seriously undermine the safety net which exists for homeless families; opposes in particular the removal of the duty of local authorities to provide permanent, secure accommodation for the homeless; and believes that the housing crisis will be resolved, not by scapegoating those without a home, but by increasing the investment in social housing built by local authorities and housing associations.
