A public footpath leading to Fingringhoe Mill follows the edge of the quay; a yellow 'man' can be seen on the ground in the foreground. The existence of this path must have caused difficulties when the quay was in use (prior to 2001), as mobile cranes and other heavy machinery would have been operating in the area, loading and discharging ships.
