Chelsea was originally a centre for artists in the 19thC and several had studios such as those shown here along the east side of Glebe Place. The sculptor Giovanni Fontana was one of the first to set up a studio here in 1865. Many of the studios are now expensive houses. In 2008 a four bed house in this street cost £3,750 PER WEEK to rent.
