There was a time when it was considered reasonable for a settlement the size of Livingston to not have a rail link. Now there are two stations, both far from the centre but the town has expanded around them somewhat. This one is on the Edinburgh - Glasgow Central line while Livingston North, miles away to the north is on the Bathgate to Edinburgh railway.
