A popular pub in one of the oldest parts of Stourport-on-Severn. The building pre-dates the coming of the Staffs & Worcs Canal. It had a beer licence from around 1836 but it was not until as late as 1962 that it had a full publican's licence which enabled it to also sell wines and spirits. At some point the adjoining house (on the left) was incorporated into the pub.
