The red brick building with the staggered windows is Shaftesbury House, Hoxton Market's former Christian Mission, named after Anthony Ashley Cooper, 7th Earl of Shaftesbury (1801–1885), the philanthropist who was also chairman of the Ragged Schools Union. The building is now in use as a restaurant, The Real Greek Mezedopolio.
