This magnificent building was formerly the vicarage for St Andrew's Church, which dates from the mid-late 18th century, and was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101176273-the-vicarage-shifnal#.XzKDgihKjcs & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1176273 in 1955. An annual church 'garden party' was held in the grounds every summer through the 1970s as I recall, attended by members of the church congregation and nearby residents (some of them quite young. Ahem). It's now a private residence, having been sold off by the church in the 1980s. The photograph is taken from the top of the church tower, about 100 feet above the ground.
