Type 22 pillbox

This type 22 polygonal pillbox is located on the edge of a field below Happisburgh lighthouse; constructed in 1940/41 it formed part of the Norfolk coast defences and was built from reinforced concrete and brick but much of its red-brick shuttering has fallen off. The pillbox is documented in the Defence of Britain database and has the reference number S0000881.
