A good crop on the old apple trees at the entrance to Hill Close gardens on a perfect autumn day after a lousy summer. The gardens are restored Victorian detached town gardens where people would go to have a potter, grow flowers, fruit and vegetables and relax with a brew in their summerhouses, some of which remain and are grade II* listed.
