This field has already been harvested and ploughed; perhaps even sown. The prominent monument in the next square commemorates the 4th Earl of Aberdeen, George Hamilton-Gordon (1784 - 1860), Prime Minister of the United Kingdom at the time of the Crimean War. The monument is known as the Prop of Ythsie.
